A reminder that this weekend is just not another regular long weekend.

This weekend young players are in tournaments and showcases, get a day off school, and the hockey world is caught up in the NHL playoffs. While all this is going on, let’s encourage everyone to slow down and remember that the true heroes are not always on TV and do not necessarily wear numbers on their backs. They live in a world where shot blocking is a lot more serious than a statistic in a game….And a commitment means a whole lot more than securing a scholarship.
There are brave men and women a long way from any sheet of ice whose sacrifice and dedication allow us all to enjoy this great game.
